Jason is a psychotherapist with a particular interest in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, HIV care, self-acceptance, and burnout. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy from PCI College/Middlesex University, a diploma in Group Supervision along with a Contract and Corporate Law diploma and BSc of Law. Jason’s dissertation explored self-acceptance among people living with HIV showing working within this niche was an intentional goal to create a space where it can be navigated compassionately while the nuances of understanding already exists.
Before training as a therapist, Jason built a career spanning law and corporate management, including the last 5 years specifically in commercial contract management. This gave him a grounded understanding of workplace pressure, burnout, and the demands of navigating corporate life and an insight he now brings into his work with clients. Alongside this, he spent close to a decade in community outreach across the HIV and LGBTQIA+ sectors, including placement work with HIV Ireland, InSpire Therapy and volunteering with Gay Switchboard Dublin and MPower Community based HIV testing Group.
Together, these experiences shape Jason’s integrative, client-centred approach, grounded in trauma-informed practice and a belief that therapy should feel human, honest, and non-judgemental.
Outside the therapy room, Jason writes and creates psychoeducational content exploring mental health through the lens of pop culture, film, and music.
