Pre-accredited Psychotherapist registered with APCP; and Graduate member of PSI – Psychological Society of Ireland
I am a qualified psychotherapist in Ireland, migrant and researcher focused on the emotional experience of people living outside their country of origin. I work primarily with people living abroad who recognise that the emotional impact of migration is far greater than what is usually addressed in practical conversations about career, language or adaptation. My work focuses on themes such as acculturative stress, migratory grief, identity, belonging, loneliness, and the profound changes that occur in the body and mind when living between cultures, climates and different social rhythms.
I believe migration is not merely a logistical or professional decision. It is a complex emotional journey, marked by real losses, repeated beginnings and the gradual need for the body to learn, over time, how to feel safe within a new context. Through my own experience as a migrant and my clinical work with other migrants, I have developed a sensitive and direct understanding of what is rarely named: invisible fatigue, guilt associated with being away, idealisation of what was left behind, difficulties with belonging, and seasonal changes in sleep, mood and energy.
Having volunteered extensively since 2009 across different sectors and organisations — including crisis support, community care and social assistance initiatives — I came to understand that supporting others is not simply something I do, but an essential part of who I am. Giving, listening and being present have always felt as natural to me as breathing.
My long-standing commitment to mental health promotion gradually led me to focus more deeply on emotional and psychological support within community-based settings. This path included involvement with organisations such as Text About It, Action for Happiness, and the Group of Women from Brazil based in Dublin, where I contributed to initiatives centred on wellbeing, connection and emotional support among migrant communities.
Originally from Brazil, I bring a perspective shaped not only by my lived experience of migration, but also by nearly 20 years working across diverse corporate and organisational roles before transitioning into psychotherapy. This background allows me to understand, with nuance and realism, the professional, emotional and identity-related challenges faced by individuals navigating life and career transitions across cultures.
I do not work with promises of perfect adaptation or quick solutions. I offer qualified listening, emotional clarity and realistic pathways towards building a more intentional and meaningful life in the place one has chosen to live.
I offer online and in-person sessions in Dublin, in Portuguese and English, for individuals seeking deeper self-understanding and support in overcoming their main challenges.
If you live between worlds and feel the need for a safe space to process this journey, this may be a meaningful place to begin.
No journey needs to be made alone.
