She offers a safe and confidential space to help make sense of what is causing distress
Working mainly within a person-centred approach Shirley may integrate other therapies
including Acceptance and Compassion-focussed work.
As a neurodivergent person she has a particular interest in neurodiversity, and the
challenges of living in a neurotypical environment.
As well as training in Neurodiversity (Autism, ADHD, Dyspraxia and Dyslexia), she has
additional training in Loss and Bereavement, Domestic Violence and Coercive Control
Originally from Northern Ireland, Shirley has lived and worked in England, Asia and Australia and has experienced the challenges of identity.
Shirley is accepting of religious, non-religious
and spiritual beliefs, and is comfortable speaking about what brings meaning and comfort to your life.
Shirley believes we are all unique, and often just want to be understood and valued for
being our authentic selves.
Shirley is a pre-accredited member of the Association of Professional Counsellors and
Psychotherapist.
