Mona is an integrative therapist, using a range of theories to best support clients. She particularly identifies with Person Centred, Humanistic, and critical theories such as Feminist and Queer theories. All work is trauma informed. Her experience as a counsellor, voluntary work for a range of helplines, and community mental projects ensures she can work with a range of clients.
Mona has previous lived experience of generalised anxiety and is currently managing a chronic condition resulting in reduced mobility. She has a dual ethnic identify, and an understanding of growing up in a Muslim household. These experiences have shaped how she works, including having a passion for true accessibility.
Mona has a family member who transitioned in the 1970s, so understands that gender non-conformity is not a new concept. Her interest in social constructivism also frames her belief in multiple truths, and that identity and language are constructed, and do not need to be binary.
