While studying midwifery, I found that my friends often turned to me with their worries, and I discovered a genuine joy in listening and providing support. However, during my university years, the pressure to excel in exams led to overwhelming anxiety and panic attacks. This prompted me to seek therapy, initially hoping to be “fixed” but ultimately learning to manage and live alongside my anxious thoughts.
Through my experiences, I realised that my fulfilment didn’t lie in midwifery but rather in becoming a psychotherapist, an aspiration I couldn’t pursue in the past. My personal journey with anxiety, trauma, and burnout illuminated the importance of therapy and ignited a desire within me to support others on their own paths.
Currently, I am a trainee psychotherapist enrolled in an MSc program at DCU and a student member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. With full qualifications and indemnity insurance, I am ready to work with clients. My therapeutic approach is integrative, recognising that different modalities can
benefit people due to their unique complexities—there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. I draw from humanistic, psychodynamic, systemic and CBT approaches, adapting my methods to suit each individual’s needs.
I firmly believe that clients are the true experts of their own experiences, and I avoid taking an authoritative stance in therapy. My aim is to explore thoughts, emotions, and all that emerges, providing empathetic support as clients
embark on the journey of self-discovery and self acceptance. I offer attentive listening within a safe space and encourage clients to express themselves openly. I am equipped to work with various issues, including anxiety, stress, relationships, self-esteem, LGBTQ+ concerns, and trauma. I am a proud Ally for the LGBTQ+ Community.
