Gil Fournier is a trainee counsellor and therapist currently studying towards IACP Accreditation at PCI College in Limerick. He moved to Ireland from Canada in 2019, and to Limerick in 2022. Gil currently holds degrees in Human Rights and in Gender Studies and believes the two are heavily intertwined with mental health. He uses person-centred methods in his therapeutic practice, and believes we all have the ability to heal and grow inside of us; he hopes to help you find and foster this power in yourself.

Gil is a non-binary trans man and understands the intricacies of gender, sexuality and relationship diversity on a personal level. It’s very important to them that the people they work with feel understood and accepted, and they strive to create an environment where everyone feels safe to explore their identity without fear of judgement.

In his spare time, Gil is a passionately bad artist (How wonderful it is to create without the expectation of perfection!) and is learning his Cupla Focal in Irish bit by bit. He loves reading Queer and Feminist texts and learning about his brave predecessors, and he cannot wait to welcome you.
