Art Therapy is a gentle form of creative somatic therapy whereby a person uses art materials to express and process their reality. Art therapy has been proven support people with a wide range of common life experiences such as anxiety, depression, self-exploration, and self-esteem while also supporting those who may have PTSD, long term health issues or have experienced bereavement.
Andrea holds over 15 years’ experience working with people across their life span who have experienced trauma through a wide range of services including: Temple Street Children’s University Hospital, Saoirse Domestic Abuse Charity, Aoibhneas Domestic Abuse Refuge, AkiDwA Women’s Migrant Rights Service, Ballymun Day Nursery, National primary schools, The National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin’s RHA Gallery and with FirstLight, a charity Supporting Suddenly Bereaved Parents and Families.
Andreas passion for creative therapy is seen with her wide-ranging experience across all age groups, in individual and group art therapy and thought offering Continual Professional Development groups to other therapists and front-line staff. Andrea creates her own art and is an avid supporter of LGBTQIA+ issues in Ireland.
